Rooney: Records are not valid without winning trophies
Wayne Rooney knows he can not be seen as a legend if not win any major tournament with the English national team.
Rooney will become only the ninth England player to reach 100 appearances with the national team, which he will reach Saturday's match against Slovenia, valid for qualification for Euro 2016.
Of the eight players, only Sir Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore achieved what Rooney is failing to do - raise a big trophy.
"To reach 100 appearances for England, there are not many players who have done this will be a great achievement. I will be proud to join this club and something with which self and my family will be proud. "
"But I can endure this and say I made 200 appearances and 100 goals for the country, but the important thing is to win a trophy and this is not what we all want."
"This is why I play football to win. This is the target and I hope that soon we will be able to achieve this, "said Rooney.
